Beautiful Legend - Waverly Alexander

Ruminations of an Insomniac..
I love Waverly's writing. Beautiful Legend, her sophomore novel, was no exception. Her characters are full, with opinions and histories. They have quirks and eccentricities. They leave marks on my mind. Well after the story is done, I find myself wondering how they are. Curious about the rest of their lives. Yes, I realize that they are not real people. But I feel like writing attachable characters is a feat in itself.

Addison and Josh were a perfect illustration of dynamic characters. Their chemistry was tangible and their baggage (both coupled and individually) was so intricately spun. Their story built fluidly. They pulled me into their world, needing to know what would happen next. Their connection began rocky, with a tumultuous push and pull. But they couldn't deny the string tugging them together, tightening.

"The untouchable fairytale princess locked away in her tower, hidden from the world. And then you were right in front of me, looking at me like you wanted me as much as I wanted you." - Josh Travin

Emotions ran high. Suspense tiptoed across my senses. Vulnerability drenched the pages. Undeniable strength shone from the shadows. A connection, soul deep, apprehended the hopeless romantic that resides in me. Beautiful Legend was a ride. And I loved every moment of it.

Synopsis:
He barged into my life my junior year of college. Brooding, mysterious, and barely talks to anyone--Joshua Travin is allegedly as skilled in the bedroom as he is on the rugby field. He's everywhere I go, always watching. Despite his obvious distaste for me, I find a familiar comfort in his green eyes.

I've spent every day since I was seven hiding my past, trying to forget the attack that killed my mother and my sister. The attack I barely survived. Now, I never let anyone in. Even the people who would consider me a friend? They don't know the real me.

But this time, Joshua won't let me hide.

This book contains mature themes and is NOT suitable for readers under 18. Standalone. HEA. Told in ONLY the female MC's POV. This is NOT part of The Darlington Elite Series.
